New Feature: Rooster Block™! (by Andres)

Hi Folks,

I had this idea two nights ago and I just had to make it happen because I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

It's called a "Rooster Block™" and it's a euphemism for its more well-known cousin and has the same virtual effect that its cousin has in real life. Basically, you can now Rooster Block™ any member directly on their profile, but what it actually does is completely block everyone else from contacting them for 24 hours so that you have their undivided attention since you will be the only one that will be able to contact them during that period. When you Rooster Block™ someone, they will be immediately notified via an automated private message sent by you so that they can easily find out who Rooster Blocked them and reply to you directly. A person that has been Rooster Blocked can still contact anyone they want and even use the Forums, but NO ONE will be able to contact them, not even to reply to a private message. It will essentially force your target to have to speak to you since no one else will be able to contact them directly and privately on the site.

For example, let's say a guy sees a girl online and really likes her. He invites her to chat but she's already chatting with someone else. He realizes this girl is attracting a lot of attention and begins to panic and sweat the competition. So he goes for the nuclear option and Rooster Blocks her so that no one else can contact her for 24 hours so he can take the pressure off, take his sweet time to make his smooth move, grab her full and undivided attention, and greatly increase his chances of making something happen with her. It's the ultimate display of interest!

Of course, this could get out of hand pretty quickly if everyone started Rooster Blocking everyone else, and then no one would be able to contact anyone. So we need to make them super rare. So to Rooster Block™ someone, you will need a whopping 800 Cupid Credits. The quickest way to earn 800 Cupid Credits today is to refer 3 fully-verified girls and 1 fully-verified guy to Dating.mobi. Referring a guy gets you 80 Cupid Credits, whereas referring a Girl gets you 3x more Cupid Credits (240).

Right now, no one on Dating.mobi has enough Cupid Credits for a Rooster Block™. So let's see who will refer the most users to Dating.mobi and be the first to Rooster Block™ someone and who will be the first to get Rooster Blocked!

Let the Games begin!

Isn't it pressing/blocking my freedom? What if i dont like the one who rooster block me and currently madly inlove to somebody i chatted with most of the day and then because then someone rooster blocks me means denying his contacts with me for 24 hrs :(.....Just a wild thoughts :D

Why admin the cupid points are not given fairly (gals vs guys )when you refer a friend(s) ...

It would only affect you for 24 hours, so it's not the end of the world, and anyone who tried to contact you would get a message saying you've been Rooster Blocked, so they would realize what was going on. Who knows, it might even make him a bit jealous and make him pursue you even more after he saw how much interest there was in you from other guys. :) Also, since it requires so many Cupid Credits, it's not something that will happen every day, every week, or even every month to most people, but when it does, it'll add a nice twist to the daily Dating.mobi routine. Also, Premium members won't be able to be Rooster Blocked (since they'll be paying for a service, after all), so you could always upgrade later on if you really wanted to be completely immune to the Rooster Block.

Because Dating.mobi -- like every other dating site in the world -- has more men than women. It's basic supply and demand. Since the "supply" of women is less than that of men, they are more scarce, and therefore more "valuable", so the reward for referring new female members is greater.

Sounds good to me. It will help people that get ignored by people also. To give them a chance to speak to that person that they have really wanted to talk too. I think its a great idea myself.

@Andres: Ok great idea but its counter productive and you may create some angry angry people lol oh well hope it never happens to me that would suck as much nerf balls as the first girl that ever said shed do it ha ha

@Rainbowbutterfly: I know why its cuz when a girl stalks a guy its persistance and when a guy stalks a girl he goes to jail lol thats the answer for the points
