We DOUBLED our Servers AGAIN and moved the Database to its own Server! (by Andres)

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to say that we've doubled our servers again and moved our Database to its own server, so things should be running a lot smoother from now on as the site begins to take advantage of all those extra resources. That's the reason for the downtime earlier.

With the Database on its own Server now, it will no longer be competing for resources with the site itself, so they can now each make full use of the entire resources of their own Servers. As a result, the site will be performing a lot better, especially during peak hours.

If you notice any strange issues, please report them here.

Our little baby is growing...

@Andres: im gonna put my IT training to the test here and go on a limb to call you out on one mistake i see with this. When you move the database to a Seperate server you will likely run into the issue of network congestion. Idk if your using a hosting company or not but if your running this whole show from your house or whatever network congestion will be a nuisance to your users. The reason for network congestion would be the fact that the two servers now how to communicate (via the network) for every action preformed by a user. Now granted your logic of lessening server congestion may compensate for a little while in the long run its going to cause more problems than solutions. Thanks for taking the time to read my input. Also if u could tell me one thing id really apriciate it. Are you using multiple single function sql databases or one or two multi function. If you use about three databases that have multiple functions you would likely use less server space and lessen server congestion. Again thanks
