Not only that, but how many are now not on the site? That's a lot in any form.
Actually, all are still on the site, since we remove users that have deleted or been banned from everyone's Dump list, so Mr. 6000 Dumps actually has Dumped over 6,000 users that are still registered on the site (and even more if you consider those he had Dumped that have since deleted or been banned)!

I think everyone over the limit should be told and forced to follow the limits as well.
The thing is, I don't want to have force them to delete their lists just because of this change, I feel bad enough as it is to have to impose this limit even though we don't have a choice. That said, if they want to add to the list but are over the limit, then they will have to remove enough users to fall below the limit before they can add any more.

The problem is we have to set a limit somewhere, and based on the stats, having more than 20 Dumps puts you in the "under 1%" category, so it's no fair to the average user to allow a minority of users to use a majority of the resources, and the limit of 20 is already about 3 times the average, which I think is quite generous and most here seem to agree. If you had 20 Dumped users and you wanted to Dump a new one, you would have to remove one from your existing Dumped list before adding the new one.

an idea make it 40 dumps/fav and lets say u have 20 favs 20 dumps and u want to dump someone else but dont want to undump someone to do it? do a trade delete a fav to add that block?

That would over-complicate things in the backend since the two are not related and are stored in different Database tables. What I can do if you guys are interested, however, is not force this limit upon Premium users for those who wanted/needed more Favorites or Dumps. I just had a look at the Premium numbers, and we have such few Premium users vs. Free users that it wouldn't really matter if they had no limit since their impact would be negligible on the overall user base.

If you guys think that's a good idea, then let me know and I won't implement the limit for Premium users when this goes live. That would at least give users the possibility of increasing their limits if they needed to. On the other hand, if you guys would prefer everyone have the same exact limits so that all users are forced to think carefully about who they add to their Favorites and who they Dump, then we can leave this limit the same for everyone, free and Premium alike.

Up to you guys. Let me know!

@Andres: i think they should have more than free users. I would stay upgraded then.

Hmmm, I disagree. We were told in the beginning that whether free or not, everyone should have all of the basic features that comes with the system. If this is over complicating things, I can understand giving a little more room to everyone but allowing premium members to have an unlimited amount is just not right but that's just my opinion. Free users shouldn't be treated as less than premium members just because they are not premium members....

Thanks for your input, that's definitely a good reason to spare Premium members the limit.

Yup, and no one is removing those features. Everyone will still be able to use the Favorites and Dump features. What we're discussing here is not removing any features, but adding limits. Limits, I should clarify, that were going to happen sooner or later regardless of whether there was a Premium version or not because something "unlimited" can't last forever. If anything, the Premium revenue allowed us to go longer without limits by permitting us to literally double the server capacity, but it's simply not sustainable for there to be no limits for all users, I think we can agree on that.

If this is over complicating things, I can understand giving a little more room to everyone but allowing premium members to have an unlimited amount is just not right but that's just my opinion. Well, as for how users are treated, I try to treat all my users equally (Free or Premium), but if you're referring to how they're treated in terms of the features they get, then I don't really think that's a valid argument because Premium members are already getting a whole lot more features than Free users (such as the Unlimited Inbox). That's the whole point of Premium, they help pay for the additional resources those extra features and perks require.

But I don't want to turn this into a "who's better" contest between Free and Premium users, because first of all, you're all the best, and second, these limits were going to happen one way or another (and I'm afraid these aren't the last of them). So I just wanted to see whether you guys thought Premium users should be spared the limits since after seeing the numbers I realized it would nave a negligible impact on the site due to the tiny fraction of the overall user base that is actually Premium, and thus at least give those that wanted a higher limit an option to increase them rather than force the limit on 100% of users without any alternative.

I got you Andres and I know...just couldn't resist lool Anyway, I do think Premiums should get a little more, but I still don't think it should be an unlimited thing since it has been a problem and you are cutting back. I think it would eventually turn out to be the same way really even if it's not a lot of premium members. If it's unlimited, it still could be a problem.
