This Week's Dating.mobi Pet Peeve Confessional (by Andres)
Georgiafan24 isnt galoney....hes an old member that deleted. I will give his name but only with his knowledge. But its not galonely
This is always a tough one because doing what you suggest requires us to have personal information on every user that registers on the site, which would require us to force everyone to provide us that information (e.g. verify their phones). Even then, it's not fool-proof, but the real problem is that not everyone has the capability of verifying themselves, so by forcing it upon everyone, we would automatically be excluding some users. I remember a user in his 50's called Ray who was a regular on the Forums and found love on the site. He enjoyed the Forums so much that he wanted to stick around. However, after an incident of public cyberbullying in the Forums, we had to force everyone to verify their phones in order to use the Forums. Ray was unable to do so and ended up deleting his account. So before I made such a drastic decision, I would have to think about it long and hard because it would have a real-world impact on a lot of people, so I would need to be certain that the benefits far outweighed the costs, so to speak.
Similar to my answer above, there's not much we can do about the gender verification short of forcing everyone to verify their pics, which wouldn't be fair to those who don't have a camera phone. Regarding pics showing nudity, we remove them the same day they get reported to us, so just make sure you report any nude pics you see and we'll take care of them right away. If you guys think you've seen a lot of private parts, you have absolutely NO idea how many penises and vaginas Aleksandra and I have seen since starting the site since we see every single one that gets reported. After the 100th, they kinda stop having an effect on you. In fact, I think I could qualify as a Urologist AND Gynecologist by now without going through Med School. :)
Done. This was added as yet another exclusive Premium feature to make handling your Unlimited Inbox a lot easier!
Done. This wasn't just changed for the "Verify Pics" page, this was changed for every page where you can Report a User. After reporting the user, you will be automatically taken to whatever page you were on when you clicked the "Report User" button. This is a perfect example of the type of Pet Peeves I want to fix every week, so thanks for mentioning it! :)

What CAN be done abt banned users returning over and over....I noticed you mentioned the incident of cyber bullying(your words not mine) that led to the forced phone verification, but that particular member hasn't been back into the forums since you banned him, he wasn't banned before u imposed that restriction, and he has asked politely to return not just faked a profile to do so. It is however a current and relevant problem right now. I noticed you banned a dunced members fake profile twice yet he was still able to be on the forums again last night with yet another profile and is signed on atm. Is this because you didn't ban his original profile? Does the phone verification really work? Is there ANY thing else that can be done?
i would like you to warn me. I may or may not take your advice but i def wouldnt tell them
To be frank, it's a problem on every single Dating site. It's just that other dating sites have millions of users, so it's less noticeable. We're still very much a "small" player in the grande scheme of things, so this issue stands out more here (for now). It's part of the "growing pains" every dating site struggles with while it's still relatively small.
That member had several of his profiles banned, the rules clarified to him, he apologized sincerely, and mentioned he would stay out of trouble, so he was given a second chance. He knows if he gets into trouble again, he'll be gone for good. The phone verification is not fool-proof (nothing is), but it does make a huge difference since it is a lot more difficult to get a new phone number compared to getting a new IP or e-mail address. In fact, since forcing it upon the Forums, we've had a lot less issues here, but also less relative activity since not everyone can participate. The more things we force upon people, the less activity there will be, and it's difficult enough as it is to grow without advertising, so we need to be very careful about what we force on to users. I'm fine with forcing the phone verification on the Forums, since they are public, but not yet on the site as a whole, as it would exclude too many innocent users from ever having a chance to find love here.
At the end of the day, there is no "perfect" solution to this problem and I haven't seen any other site "resolve it". Of course, we could go to a draconian extreme and force every user to submit an official ID to verify their name, picture, date of birth, and social security number and create a database with all that personal information identifying each and every user, but do we really want to go there? We prefer a more balanced approach, but finding the "right" balance is always difficult.

People you have dumped still being able to post on the threads you created at all. They can still hop on your theads, talk smack, and start drama in a way where everyone can see them on your threads, except you. I would like to see the dump button keep enemies off of my threads altogether, and keep me off theirs. On regular users threads, the dump button works just fine the way it is. However i hate seeing the same people cyberbully members including me, getting members in trouble over stupid piddly crap, and unnessecary drama, and getting personal on the threads.
@Andres: I recieved NO apology for being called a retard that needed shock therapy or being called a bitch or being told that I should just step in front of a bus and die. I have lost any respect for you that still remained. You allow CERTAIN members to avoid bans and stay on site after cyberbullying and yet throw the book at others. I can see no logic in your actions. I am just shocked! And I know you will probably delete this post again but I am not the kind of woman that CAN'T NOT say truth as I see it.
I only wish i could keep everyone from seeing their posts (the people i dumped), in the forums i start. I am open to friendly debate, but not mean name calling, dramatic drawing out of resolved conflicts, getting into others personal buisness, and just stupid drama all together sucks, and i cannot stand. Maybe andres could make the dump action cover that too. When you dump someone, 1. their post are invisible to you, and yours to them on other people's posts, 2. They cannot post on your forums all together, nor you on theirs. 3. Make "spy posting" i.e.-"ohh gosh it's so n' so, i can't believe they are on here. Hey what are they saying buddy? so i can argue with, and make him angry." Or something of that nature. 4. On posts where one or the other is quoted, will not be by passable like this, but if one tries to reply directly to, or mentions the other in their post on a regular users forum, make this against the rules, and a means for immediate ban from the forums in general, because by doing this the are then breaking multiple rules at once. Don't get personal, no drama, and the what would be new rule, "no spy posting". What do you guys think? That sounds like it would be an easy alteration to the system to make, and it would make the site as a whole be alot more enjoyable. This way, there would be no fighting!!! Awesome huh? Maybe we can convince andres.
@JLaDawn: I agree LaDawn. Andres, if your going to make exceptions for some you need to make exceptions for all. JMO..

Why would I delete a post where a completely unappreciative user who has forgotten everything that was done for her says she's lost all respect for me simply because I do not run my site the way she wants and give special treatment to her and her best buddy? If you want to run a site your way, feel free to start one yourself and go through all the hard work, anguish, lack of respect, penises, and being taken for granted that I've had to endure, and see how long you last. But I can assure you that I won't lose any sleep over a user that has been involved in more drama than most here telling me they lost all respect for me. I didn't build this site for JLaDawn. I built it for all my 150,000+ users, so you should probably get off your high horse and come back down to reality. You said so yourself how this site helped you during a difficult time in your life, so start showing a little more appreciation, or at the very least stop acting like an entitled Princess when things don't go your way because I don't owe you absolutely anything.
