Vegetarian Thread. (by ReVampyDoll)
For a while I've been thinking about becoming a vegetarian. I've done it before. Lasted nearly a year but my face broke out and nothing would get rid of it. Even pills from the doctor. So i went back to eating meat and a few weeks later it cleared up.
Well one of my new years resolutions was to do it again and fingers crossed the same doesn't happen. I adore animals and this feels like the right decision for me. This is day no 4. So i was wondering if anyone here is a vegetarian and can maybe give me some tips on healthy alternatives, snacks, receipes. Or just genera chat. Id be very appreciative <3 Thanks :-D

Hi ReVampyDoll. Ive been a vegetarian since 2004. It was a piece of cake giving up pork (made me sick all the time anyway) and my hardest to give up was beef. Never was a fan of fish and chicken was even easier when I got a raw bloody juicy chicken sandwich from KFC. I was already on my way to vegetarian and it really helped out a lot lol Anyways, the breakouts may be an allergic reaction to certain veggies as they are plants also so you may want to try eating certain ones for a time and see what reaction you're having to them. I do eat egg and cheese but I prefer Almond milk over soy or regular. Vitamins are a necessity. However, the trick my dr has been preaching to me (she is one too) is to try a variety of veggies (exotic ones too), experiment with meals and tastes, I shop for veggie protein items to compliment the meal (peanut butter-my favorite and black beans are very very good too!), and watch out for the starchy things (my demons :p). Vegetarians who are deficient tend to make up with carbs.
Thanks @just me and you.
I've become quite addicted to mushrooms. So have had them with things. I've wrote down receipes off line and got some ideas also. Its all new and exciting :-)
