There isn't really any gifts to convey friendship only or to cheer u up, I would send more if those type of gifts were added to the selection. Possible?

Maybe even lower the price of some and even make some (like 5) to send for free?

Well, what about the "2 Beers Clinking" and "#1 Badge" under the Fun & Misc. category, for example? Wouldn't those convey friendship without any romantic insinuations?

What else would you guys like to see to convey friendship?

Maybe even lower the price of some
We've already lowered the cost of buying Cupid Credits for the Holiday Season. This is a very delicate balance because if we lower the price too much (either of the Cupid Credits or of the Gifts), then the Gifts will no longer be considered "special" and then they lose their entire purpose.

Also, of the different pricing groups for Gifts, the largest pricing group is just 80 Cupid Credits, with a total of 43 Gifts having that price. You can buy 100 Cupid Credits for under $2, which means those Gifts cost an equivalent of $1.60 (or, if you buy 10,000 Cupid Credits, their equivalent cost is just 55 cents). Do you guys seriously consider that expensive? How much does it cost to buy a girl a drink at a bar?

If you want to send something for free, then you have the 2 free Roses just like everyone else. But the Gifts will never be free and will always require Cupid Credits to purchase, otherwise they become worthless. In other words, you have to work for them, either to earn the money to buy Cupid Credits for them, or to refer friends to the site, or to win them in a Giveaway Contest. If something doesn't require work, and the person receiving it knows that, then they'll hardly consider that "Gift" special.

Think of it this way. If we gave you free Gifts, and you then turned around and gave those Gifts to another user, you would essentially be "re-gifting" our Gift. In real life, if you know someone got a gift from someone else, and then they "re-gifted" it to you for your birthday, how appreciative would you really be of that gift knowing they put absolutely no effort into it? (Cue Seinfeld episode...)

It's the thought that counts, not how much a gift cost or if it was something around the house you don't make use of. Lol.

It's not about how much a gift costs, it's about how much effort you put into it. The cost can be an indirect reflection of effort, since you usually need to have worked to earn the money to meet the cost, but even a free gift that required effort to make (e.g. a knitted sweater) can be appreciated as much (or even more!) than an expensive gift. In short, no effort = no value = not special.

What I find interesting is that, so far on the site, the ladies give more Gifts than the men, when it's usually the other way around in the offline world. I think the men need to "man up" and start spoiling the ladies. Either that, or they need to stop complaining when they get no attention from the ladies and they haven't even tried to get her attention properly. :)

Unfortunately, that's not an option as it would open up the system to abuse from users with multiple accounts. This is why most points programs (from miles to supermarket points, etc) are "non-transferable".

How bout something that says 'I'm glad we are friends" or says "thank you".

Wow! Seriously more woment gift on here than guys? Odd. And I get what you're saying bout the effort, but yeah, it's more of the thought that makes it most valuable. If you give with the wrong intentions that is what makes it invaluable.
