@Austinjordanvas: i already answered that brother....and i think d only person who does something good being here is d owner Mr. Andres...he is d only successful person who i see here, bcoz he is actually running a business, and that in itself takes socio political skills...others im not sure, though they may say otherwise...

To each his own i guess. U joined this site jus like all of us. If u feel its taking away from ur real life then yes u should think about it. But what made u join in the first place? Obviously something was missing at that point in time

@Briteeyes: ya good question...obviously i came looking for some gal wid whom i may have some timepass, especially frm my own country...but timepass got changed to timewaste...obviously a person enjoys leisure and likes to do easier things in life rather than try and do something differnt and out of d box in actual life...but wat really hit me was a coincidence in d form of a news paper article on this topic...i remain in far flung construction sites and ws cut off frm my usual world, but now i realised, it vud be better chatting or having fun wid d workers and strangers here than wasting time online....if that was a satisfactory reply...

I think everyone on here is successful in some form or fashion. Shoot, I have 2 kids, work 2 jobs (one of them is a self owned business), also do odd stuff for extra money like scrap cans and sell pecans. I would say I am very successful. Even a single mom is considered successful in my book.

OP....I do see your point and yes most people wont be on social websites when they do have a full life circle. Some people might logon to social websites out of curiousty then they might enjoy the virtual world so much and get hooked on the net....Those people werent failures in the real world...

well, again its not abt users who have been here only since a short time....the point is regarding those who have been here for months or years and have hundreds of posts to their credit....it seems their online profile is only thing that counts in their life, and d only credits they can claim too r online ones...

OP, its a nice observation of yours but I consider myself NOT a failure in the real world . But I get your point though . Meeting people virtually whether through a social sites , dating sites or blog sites are for me a privilege to meet people around the world which I don't need to spends thousands of dollars to travel . I can do it free and I can control the time . It's for me , a chance of learning new things, new cultures and traditions which saves me from purchasing books .

As long as one can balance his/ her life in real and virtual world , then no problem ..

Edit:

Yes, this is my new account but I've been on here for 6 months and posted 5,000 + posts when I deleted my account . My previous username is Rainbowbutterfly .

u really learn about different cultures and ppl here? I really doubt that...ppl rarely move beyond their own country, and that too not wid d intention of learning or seeing a different world...all it remains in d end is it being person-centric...and i ws telling abt a newspaper article, so im not alone in thinking so...i know all my posts here have been things which ppl vudnt want to hear, but then, i speak my mind, and those r my topics of interest...sorry if it hits anyone...
