@leegale: Several states allow legally licensed persons to carry concealed weapons, not just TX...Some evn have reciprocation laws where certain states agree to allow people visiting, say, TX to carry a weapon, when that person is from another state.

My family are avid hunters and gun collectors, I shot my first gun around 5 or 6. I wld really like to understand ppl that feel the need to own guns that shoot 100 rds too? What is the purpose? And i really think it shld b more difficult to possess any firearm, they shldnt b as plentiful or easy to git ur hands on. If you truly use ur guns for hunting or home protection then a lil inconvenience isn't asking too much....imo

I beleive in the right to bear arms. People do kill people. Its the person behind the gun and their intentions. And here they do take gun and safety courses. Even if they could take all the guns away from law abiding citizens. The bad guys will still be able to get guns and pull crap like in colorado. There is always a way to do something. And ram is right about felons are not suppose to be able to get guns but they do. Unfortunately it makes an impact on everyone. As for 100 rds. I dont understand that.. I beleive in hunting. We have hunting rifles and hand gun.

I dont believe jus anyone should have a gun. In my state u r now allowed to have a gun at wal-mart, movies, skating rink, bars, etc......in my opinion if i was a physco i could ****** the gun outts the back of a mans pants as he shopped for groceries and go nuts on everyone in site. All i have to do is see the gun (and i have) and having guns at bars....u dont have to be a rocket scientist to know ALCOHOL AND GUNS DONT MIX!!! Hunting is one thing, defending ur home from robbery is another, but in public.....its a whole other situation, if someone steals ur gun from u and kills innocent people....ur partically to blame for providing them the weapon. jmo

I think that if there are federal laws in place for guns, then federal law should over rule state gun laws. Its to easy to access weapons walk in wal mart or a pawn shop and with in a hr u can walk out with a rifle or shotgun. LAWS ONLY KEEP HONEST PEOPLE HONEST. But if you know if u break the law that there are stiffer penalitys in place will make u think twice.

@Tomuchman4u: I understand ur pt to a degree. Fed law shud trump some state laws but not all, I think. Wats ok for me to do here in Louisiana mite be bad for say, California. Why penalize me? We're a very diverse country with SO many different views. Again! I don't have the answers, but I appreciate ur pt of view.

The thing that keeps going through my mind is that IF 1 or 2 people in that theater had a concealed weapon (as Ram mentioned) there may have been far fewer or no casulties! And yes, Colorado does issue concealed weapons permits. I also think strict gun control laws are like trying to stop drunk driving by making it hard for sober people to buy cars!
@itz93kleezy, if you could find an interpreter to help you post, I might be able to understand what your trying to say.

@Hawkeye58: drunks and cars was an apt example imo, if we correctly and with a lil common sense enforced the laws already in existence in gun control as well as drunk driving then we wld be better off as a nation than we r now.

Maybe, JUS maybe, we don't actually have a gun problem, or a drink driver problem.....maybe its a "people" problem, a self discipline problem, a "I'm gonna get wat I want NOW" problem. But, I'm old school.

@MrRamtasticAkaRam318: your right Ram! but until ppl start regulating themselves then the question is how do we as a society do it?
