@sweetmel: it is amazing how thoughtless you are about some thing tragic that happened here in the u.s.a but if it happened to your country u would expect the u.s.a to come help.

@OneWitWonder: ...""" My supervisor was a Muslim man and
his two little girls went to a Muslim school
a coupla blocks over...I was introduced to a
level of hatred I had never been exposed to
before. He had to be escorted from the
building by tpd and to his daughters school
to get them and take them home just
because he was muslim."""....< was he "lol-ing" and "joking around"? If so, I understand why...

I was in Bamberg, Germany serving with the Army. I was stationed with 1-6 field artillery at Warner barracks. We were in the fitness center doing a urine analysis. They had raided the barracks for drugs earlier that day and found several rooms with them in it. The news came directly from the division artillery commander. We were locked down on the base and had to wear full battle equipment wherever we went. The news came in slowly in Europe and we had no idea what was going to happen

I understand that what happened 12 years ago today wouldn't effect someone who lives halfway around the globe nearly as much as it's would those of us here in the States.

But is it unreasonable to expect...not necessarily sympathy...but a less callous attitude?

I lost people that day. Friends that never made the commute home. It's a deep scar on the American psyche and on my own. In the ensuing conflict, I lost more people. I don't think I'm being over-sensitive.
You're not being over sensitive. Its obvious this is a grown up conversation and very apparent not everyone here is an adult. Adults know the difference in time to be serious and time to be cute....this is NOT the thread to be cute....sorry but it is a disgrace to see anyone giggling on this thread.

No walks he wasn't...he was one of the sweetest and most respectful men I've ever met. He wept for the inhumanity just as I did. He was nothing like the bitch on this thread!

I was at home...got the call to turn on tv...watched the first tower, then decided my grandmother didn't need to view this alone...especially since 2 of her grand children are in the military. As I drove to her house, tower 2 was hit....I pushed on the gas even more so. Got to her house, called the school about my kids...they were on lock down till none then sent home

@sweetmel: Please just go. You've made it's clear what kind of person you are. I'm asking you to quit posting in this thread. Before it gets worse, and people lose their tempers entirely.
