Because I don't agree with you. I'd rather keep my opinions to myself.

Well thanks! I know participating in a good debate can be fun, but what does it actually achieve, you have two sides passionately opposing one another. You won't change each others minds. So why bother in the first place. I respect others have different opinions to myself, but doesn't mean I have to incessantly go on about it. I'm secure enough in my views, not to feel like arguing about them to whoever will listen :)

I think it is a good thing. It gets rid of people who puts no value at all on the life of another person. All these people think about is themselves. I don't agree with life sentences though. If someone commits a crime that requires more than a ten years sentence. I feel that person should be put to death as well.

@JLaDawn: I'm a big believer in crime and maximum punishment, but getn the death penalty for 3rd offense DUI (which carries a 10 year sentence here in Louisiana) seems a bit extreme to me.

The only reason I think this way is because of the extremely high cost of penning someone up for the rest of their life. We have elderly people who are guilty of no crime whatsoever being denied help, while rapist and murderers get everything they need just handed to them.

Completely agree (As with anything, under appropriate circumstances)
