Ban the burqa? (by james85)
@Zilya777: exactly, the things we have to do in the name of security, so if someone has nothing to hide then don't hide
As a male who isnt overly religous but has my own set of morals and values i find it a bit insulting that a religon thinks that me looking at the opposite sex in everyday life raises feelings of lust and depravity as is the reason that islamic women wear the apparel
In Nigeria,in my state alot of women wear it...they cover from head to toe..u can see just their eyes..but at a time..they stopped them kinda...so they started using the short or long one but without their face covered....no one is allowed in national youth service corps"NYSC"
Could someone explain to me the exact reason for a woman covering her face?
So men dont see their hair face or the form of their body as this would lead to immoral thoughts and actions
@WalkSoftly: Im hoping a few of the Muslim Faith, will answer you. Because I do not believe it it written in the Koran. Covering your face, man or woman, in the desert, makes sense. But if I give my opinion why 'certain sects' , require it.... Well, some would say 'male bashing', so im out of this....lol
@Zilya777: Yea I was wanting to know the original, or scriptual reasoning also. I knew, basically, the meaning Ramrod gave.....jist wondering if it was the original meaning.....or if its one man has perverted into what he wants it to mean....you know, born out of insecurity and such....Im sure thatll ruffle some feathers lol
In the quaran god asks that women not show their adornment to men who are not close relatives from the verses of hijab to dress modestly with a veil covering

@messageandreply: Mell, can a woman tell a woman, why? Can you inbox the reason to me? If you tell me why, can it be posted? If I ask a man... Would that be improper, in any way? If so, I will not ask a man. And I will shut up... Hee hee.
