Mebbe ur kids were smarter than mine then...I had taught em the abc song long before the had a clue that words were composed of letters that make sounds. And it struck me as funny as hell when I read ur post, I cld just hear my 18 mnth old son reciting "sh*t fire and save on matches" way too often! I used the abc song cuz I thought it sounded nicer......

I may be confused but when did this become about who learned what at when? This is about the pledge of allegiance. Also your kids should know how to make out words before they even attend school which is where they force the pledge of allegiance down your throat (or atleast use to).

No offense but maybe your kids were slightly lacking in the education department if they didnt know that words were composed of letters which my daughter already somewhat knows ( 3 years old ). before they attended school where they were forced to say the pledge or was given a timeout ( thats how i remember it )

No reason to argue. We all raise our.children different. All 3 of mine could read & write thier ABC by age 4 w/o problem education & intelligence is very important to me! Its just my opinion that they understand what they are saying... The school herr still recites the pledge of alledence. My.children stand and place thier hand over thier heart but they do not say the pledge. When asked why they say "I am not old enough to understand the true meaning or choose my own faith" My opinion take it or leave it. No sense in arguing

I happen to agree with you April....my chilren were not forced to say the pledge of allegiance either...a couple of em have decided to, which is their choice and one still doesn't. I found it funny that u said kids don't recite what they don't understand and shared my humor and git jumped on....
Yea, really makes clear why everyone is leaving rather than continuing the uphill efforts of making grown up conversations!
