Are these wars worth losing soldiers lives. is it really worth keeping families apart (by DrStrangeluv)
No one of heikeva comments is stating or asuming that I'm from a different country so I assumed there's a glitch in this site already experience it before but never mind this topic is more important.
No war is worth lives. But the men and women that volunteer know the risk. And so do their familys. So that they can fight against 911 and pearl harbor. Those were the worst tradgedies our nation has received. In 911 there was daycares in those buildings. That sucked big time. That was worth going to war for. Not oil or money. To those that serve i have high respects to you brave men and women.
These wars our country is involved is not going to end for troops in Afghanistan they may be there for another 10 to 20 years we still havnt left Iraq and now they talking about war in Iran. Did you know that just by looking at the cost of it is phenomenal. One missle alone is worth millions let alone techs weapons vehicles medical assistance. And since we've been to these countries things hasn't got better its gotten worst. Open your eyes. Our economy is getting worse laws are getting strict. Funding for basic care is being drained. Bottom line we as a nation is going broke. We cannot afford these never ending wars. It's not like the good ol days where our soldiers go to a location and fight the oppossing forces no instead they have to spend countless man hunts on searches. Afghanistan is no small country looking for a small band of terrorist in that country is like looking for a needle in a hey stack.
If we dont kill them over there they will kill us over here, which do you prefer
Headin' to another country to kill its inhabitants IS terrorism. The military of the nato coalition and its allies(aust included) have performed as many barbaric acts on foreign soil as the so-called axis of evil terrorists. We, as caucasians, still think we have the right to tell the rest of the world how to live. Its not that we're right, all parties are wrong. But i'm no tree-hugger, world peace is a pipe dream
@ozzy, i live in ny and we lost many wonderful people due to the acts of foreign terrorists, we dont want it to happen again so i totally support our military in seeking out terrorists no matter where they are hiding. foreign countries protecting them have to deal with the fact that we will be comming on to their soil to do what needs to be done!
The fatalities of 9-11 kinda pale in comparison to the half a million japanese vapourised at hiroshima and nagasaki. I mean no dis-respect. I shed tears as i watched that 2nd plane hit the tower. But, we r just as guilty as "them" when it comes to atrocities
And why did we bomb the japanees, pearl harbor and the fact that we would have lost thousands of soldiers in the invasion of japan. other countries need to realize that if you attack the united stated there will be hell to pay!
@OzzyOzborn: Japan ultimately caused Hiroshima and Nagasaki by bombing Pearl Harbor....and they were warned to surrender many times Little Man and Fat Boy were dropped. War sucks, I have no desire for it but sumtimes hard decisions have to be made. And thank God for the men and women who are brave enough to endure.
@heikeva: sorry alcohol and age don't mix. Tell me how many drunk driving accident occur with teens being drunk while underage. Now imagine the problem with having the ability to drive while alcohol in there vehicles. Accidents will not only double instead it will triple. You don't believe me. How many text messaging accidents were commited by young adults more than half now factor in legal alcohol.
