Hey Andres

in light of what has happened and people not using dump system. Is their way that if a user( example )soandso32 dumps lalala45 that soandso32 should completely disappear from lalala45 all together if that makes sense because issue IMO some of us are having is if we dump a user they can see what we say on activity feed and and we can see them too and some will bash whatever another user will say dumped or not so some will undump them just to defend themselves hopefully that makes sense

I agree: if I dump someone I don't want them to be able to see my every move

Hey Andres

in light of what has happened and people not using dump system.
The problem with doing what you suggest is that the Dump feature is not just meant to hide users who might be harassing you, it's also meant to filter out users you aren't interested in regardless of whether you have ever contacted each other or not. So imagine an active Forum user whom you've never personally spoken to decides to Dump you because you aren't their type and they don't want to see you in search results anymore, if we did as you suggested, then you would no longer be able to see any of their posts in the Forums despite the fact that you never Dumped them. That would significantly worsen everyone's Forum experience.

The other problem with doing what you suggest is that a user you Dumped could simply log off to see your activity around the site since the System has no way of knowing who a logged-out user is. So it would give you a false sense of security.

Furthermore, if we implemented your suggestion, it would mean that Dumps would take up twice as much space in the Database since we would essentially have to cross-dump users when only one Dumped the other, which means we would probably have to halve the limit on Dumps.

Lastly, since there are more guys than girls, doing as you suggest would really limit the amount of activity men would see on the site.

Something just doesn't feel right about giving one user the power to affect the site experience of another user.

All that being said, this has been requested several times in the past, so I am open to ideas on how to implement something like this without the issues described above. One possible idea would be to add a "Block" feature that would essentially cross-dump the user you blocked, but we would have to severely limit how many users one could block so that it wouldn't get out of hand. We could also require Cupid Credits to use such a Block feature to ensure users think twice before using it so that it would only be used in very serious cases of harassment. I'm thinking out loud here, but we would have to carefully brainstorm how to do what you guys are asking for in a way that does not do more harm than good.

@Andres: Iv seen an ex that stalked me for this last year on this site. It would be nice to have a way to block some1 like that from ever seeing me on this site.

@Andres: in my opinion I would not use cupid credits but let say free/premium alike it would be like maybe limit four or five because lets say soandso32 is jumping lolo56 (both examples) and it continues for three or four threads and become constant bickering/harassment and let say lolo56 has reported soandso32 but you (Andres) may not be on site at time Lolo could simply block user and lolo becomes invisible to soandso and soandso to lolo even in the activity feed boom drama between the two stop hopefully no one dunced and lets say after periodof time block could be reversed or if the user who is blocked deletes the person who blocks them get the block point back to them
