@Briteeyes1211: i would give negative karma for that third part, like you said; The karma system is for those who are being disrespectful.
I agree with you on that one......
Folks, just to clarify, users are allowed to give Karma however they want because it would simply not be possible to police the Karma System for justified vs. unjustified Karma giving. Of course, it's intended to weed out users who are consistently rude and disrespectful, and most users use it in that way and it has been quite successful at that. But, at the end of the day, anyone can give anyone else Karma for any reason they want.
That said, since the Karma Score is an aggregate of your Positive Karma minus your Negative Karma, bad apple's in the System shouldn't really be affecting your Score that much if you are always friendly and respectful to others. Likewise, since the majority of users use the Karma System as intended, those that do not should have a negligible effect on your total Karma Score since they are in the minority.
In an ideal world, we would have guidelines on how to give Karma, and we would enforce those guidelines. But can you imagine how many complaints we would receive from users who felt they received undeserved Negative Karma, and can you then imagine having to investigate each of those complaints to make a subjective determination about whether it was deserved or not? This is why we do not police the Karma System and why, realistically, users are allowed to give Karma any way they want. eBay works the same way, anyone can leave any buyer/seller any feedback they want, and it does not matter if it was deserved or not, if the transaction was completed successfully and the user is not malicious, it will stick forever for the same reasons I outlined above.
What is not allowed, however, is to ask for or offer Positive Karma, and all it takes is one user reporting you for me to investigate it, confirm it, and make you lose all your Positive Karma. We can easily police that aspect of it because it does not happen often, and it is not subjective. Either a user asked for/offered Karma or they didn't.
My only suggestion to the OP is that if he is truly not being rude and disrespectful, then it is time he tried a different approach with the ladies because the current one is clearly not working, as reflected by his Karma Score.
