Something in the cellar...

I had taken a week of work, a little vacation just to myself. My friend and i had been planning a hike for a little while but it had fallen through due to him being caught up with his girlfriend so i had decided to go alone. the drive up there was uneventful, it had been a beautiful summer afternoon when I began my hike up the mountain, weaving my way through the trails and trees alike I slowly made my ascent to the summit lookout point. It was my first time on the trail and after 3 hours i had found myself in a clearing, in the middle of this clearing was what appeared to be a barn. Old, decrepit and run down it stood in the middle of the clearing, like a lifeless corpse it had stood for generations untouched by humanity for so long it had been left, no graffiti or signs of human interaction it remained a monument of a time passed. I had walked up to inspect the near ancient building, with its flakes of red paint peeling of of the rotted wood I had stumbled up a cellar.

The cellar had been cracked open by just the smallest amount, unlocked and free to enter, almost calling me to come in. I had propped open the cellar door with a 2x4 I had found roughly 3 feet from the barn, it must've been blown off in a storm. The cellar itself was dark, only illuminated by the setting sun behind me. Upon inspecting the cellar doors, there were deep gouges, scratch marks along the inside of the door. I ventured further down into the cellar, using my flashlight on my phone to light up the dark interior.

There were scratch marks everywhere, the floor uprooted and the wooden ceiling broken and battered, it was obvious whatever was down here had not exited through the door rather it had made its own exit through the roof. suddenly a feeling washed over me like a rouge wave, an ever so present feeling of dread as I stair up and saw movement in the hayloft of the barn. I didn't get a very good look at it but just from the glance I had gotten it appeared to be very tall and thin, of course I sprinted out of that cellar faster then I thought I could ever run.
But as I looked back I saw it standing there.
Boney, tall and thin, like a skeleton wrapped in pale flesh.
With a grin so disgusting large it revealed all of its jagged teeth, as if it was happy to see me in such fear.
I sprinted, running down the trail passing hikers who must've thought I was insane, but i know what I saw and I kept running, I didn't stop to take a break in fear that it was chasing me, with its thin body effortlessly dodging through trees, I couldn't get the idea of it ripping me apart out of my mind. I didn't rest until I finally got to my car, to which I probably sped out of there 40kms faster then the limit. After I got home I called my buddy who I was supposed to walk the trail with and told him there was no way in hell I would ever go back, he didn't believe me when I told him what happened but I know what I saw and its still out there just waiting for the next poor soul that stumbles across that damned barn.
