Well in TN at the age of 17 u r tried as a juvenille and it doesnt go on ur record, unless its a felony. I know people that committed crimes at 18 and r now 42 and they still have to face that demon. It suks, i know it does. We all do wrong, some worse then others, some get caught and some dont. All i can say is, its not the end of the world, keep ur head up and beat this world, dont let em bring u down. Good luck to ya.

@LeoRainsAverage: Cant u get any job at all? And what if u pay $5 a week or month on ur fines write the judge a letter tell or show him u been trying 2 get a job even judges r human ! Maybe that would help its hard enough 2 get a job without beeing a felon cant imagine how hard it must b 4 u! But there has 2 b something out there mowing lawns Burger King .....anything 2 start off and than go from there!! I wish u all the luck in the world! ;)

Well at the age of 17 i made a huge mistake and was hit with a class c felony on my first EVER offense. i was young and didnt read the fine print bouf me having to pay court fees....at the age of 19 with no job i finnaly see this. i look for a job and every job either i was not eligle cause my work history which was zilch or "they decided to go in a different direction" at the age of 20 i got a job at hardees and still have it. i then got into a relationship which was probably a bad idea when i knew girls have thier needs well this girl wanted major needs and she had no job and was also fighting to get her child back so no help there more like i was a crutch cause come one year and 4 loans later and her leaving me cause i couldnt privide for her drug habit i get to start training as a shift manager at hardees. well loans are kicking my ass and all i did was dent the court fees. and here around the corner is my probation evaluation with the "needs to pay court fees" as a special condition which means i need to do or probation violation. my whole paycheck is keeping me with a vehicle and a roof and also loan companies off my rear. and i still got 2500 to pay by lets say middle of august is there any legal instance that i can prevent the judge to put me on my backup sentence of 3-5 years of jail/prison

@bluenight7: i do yes and believe me i prayed everynight after this whole ordeal looking for help and also praying for others. i just at least want some kind of reassurance that i wont go to jail i have a life that is blossoming and jail time would just ruin it all.

Well first u need to do for urself not a girl.....wheres that girl gonna be while ur sittin in jail cuz u didnt pay ur fines? Exactly where she is now....GONE! U need to show the judge ur employed and have a stable job, if i was u i would get behind a month on the loans and let them be on ur a** for a min, u need to take that money and pay EVERY penny u can on ur fines to show the judge u r tring. He will take it into consideration b4 violateing u. U gotta atleast try or u r jus walking rite into their hands.

It is true i havent been looking at it like that my mind has just been fogged by all this pressure of fear. ill have to see what i can do with the resources i have maybe on days off work tree hauling yard work or somthing. fogged thoughts made me believe that judges were just robots...but thier human too. i dont think they wanna put someone thats soon to make a career in jail for little bit of money.
