I told my boyfriend he is sexy. He looked like a bear who just found the biggest honey pot, the first time anyone has said it to him! How often do you hear you are sexy?

I was intrigued by his reaction and surprised none of his exes had said it before. Is it that uncommon for a guy to hear it?
Edit: Thanks for all the responses! And wow.. am I sad it?s so uneven between men and women. Seems women get complimented all the time and men just get some crumbs if lucky! Genuine compliments should go both ways!!
