What?s the best way to tell my wife that I lost my wedding ring?

I recently lost a lot weight and needed to get my ring refitted as it kept sliding off by itself. So I put it aside for a bit.
I realized I hadn?t seen it in a week or so and took the day off to look for it while my wife is at work. Now she?s gonna be home in 2 hours and I literally looked everywhere with no luck. On the bright side, I found a pair of cuffs links from my wedding night.
Gentleman, help.
Edit: My wife just texted me that her boss is letting her go early today because it?s Friday. I am happy for her but sad for me.
Update - My wife came home from work and saw that I had dinner ready and a chilled glass of sangria waiting for her. She asked what the special occasion was and I blurted out ?I lost my wedding ring!?
She started laughing and said ?No, really what?s the special occasion???
When I clarified that I was entirely serious I could tell she was upset and gave me one of those ?I?m not mad, just disappointed? looks but agreed to help me look again.
However, if I?m still unable to find it, I?ll have to hide one of her rings to even things out.
