My best friend of 13 years came out to me as gay early this morning. I'm not all that shocked, but I am very curious. He said he tried to fight it, he had even fell into depression and he just never built up the confidence to tell me. I was a little hurt that he never said anything, but thinking back I can see ways in which he tried.

Anyway, I love him regardless, although it will take me a little while to just be accustomed to. How do I go about asking questions without seeming pushy? Or should I just drop it and wait til he shares what he wants to share?

Just ask him if he is ok with answering some questions you have. I don't think it's pushy if yall are best friends. He may want to talk about it, but is afraid you don't. So let him know you are there for him.

@Critter1211: Good idea. When he told me it was really early this morning like, 2am. So I said we could talk more about it later. But he seems pretty open about it so far, and we are like family so I don't want him to feel like anything has changed.

@Critter1211: A nice one from such a councillor.
