Men, when you?re angry with your SO, have you broken things?

I guess I?m looking for a benchmark. My husband has gotten angry with me on several occasions and called me names (****, bitch, useless piece of ****), threatened breakups/divorce and smashed various things. He used to tell me this was common among men, so I?m curious how true that is. Did you eventually stop?
EDIT: added the full words since I guess I can use them here.
EDIT#2: in terms of breaking things since a few have asked? he?s smashed plates full of food I?ve cooked, threw ice cream sandwiches I bought for us off a balcony, punched a hole in a door, smashed his toolbox on the ground. That?s just what I remember.
