The decision? (by jcbolt)

Im currently trying to join the service but im not too sure if i really want to join. The army life sounds great financially but i really love my freedom, friends, and relaxed civilian life. If sumone cld off sum insight on my situation plz post.

Its a big decision and its easy to make it simple but really it is not a simple decision. You give up your life. They own you. But you learn good skills make good money. You still can still party. Ive never heard of the military not going to bars. My father did when he was in the navy.

My dad got blew up over seas and had his neck screwed back on but i think its loose kuz hes crazy now.

Most guys that have seen war are not ever the same again. Especially marines and army. Look at vietnam vets. My great uncle became an acoholic to survive the nightmares that he had seen over there. He drank himself to death. But he would drink so much to pass out and not remember.

It is a big decision but I think that if you weigh the pros and cons and the cons are more, dont do it. Every choice has some repercussions...

Im a marine have been since i turned 17 i been to iraq 3 times its hard i like the military way of life you still have freedom not alot but enough think about it alot before you rush into it some guys get messed up over there i dont want to sugar coat it it takes a stronge person if you need to know anything else let me know

I let my recruiter know ive changed my mind. Ill probably join later down the road tho. Rite now im gonna go back for another year of technician class and learn the advanced stuff. Plus im tired of going to meps. Im underweight and ive been their 5 times. I take it as it wasnt ment to be.
