How would you feel if a girl would pay for your drink at a bar? What would be your impression of her?

I was at a club, a cute guy started to talk to me. I went to buy myself a drink, but he ordered one for him too. Wanted to pay for mine, reaching for his wallet. I am uncomfortable with guys paying for my drink, so when waiter came I quickly paid for both drinks.
He was really suprised. Now I started to think it may look desparate... something in liney "cute guy is talking to me, better impress him, so he won't go away".
(i am not trying to find out what he thought, just what is common impression/opinion of men, when a woman pays for drinks.)
What would you think if a woman would pay for your drink?

I would say thank heavens ,, at least there are some sensible women around too . Why should a guy be paying all the times for everything ..
