My [16F] uncle [29M] is a police officer. My friends and I saw a hand on the beach at this big party. My dad [40M] is upset my friends and I ran to my uncle and told him.

I will be using fake names for this. I should also add that the police have the man that did it, and he is in jail now. This whole event obviously happened a while ago. It was early last year, and that's why I am mainly writing this. My dad is still upset with me over this situation. My relationship is becoming strained over this whole ordeal. My uncle Dan is a police officer. He is in the special operations/swat team. His actual position is a police sniper.
The day this happened was the day of my moms 39th birthday. My uncle Dan and his wife Sadie offered to throw my mom a party at their house. Dan and Sadie own a beach front property that Sadie inherited from her dad. Uncle Dan and Sadie are really nice people. Dan is my mums youngest and only brother. My mum has 4 siblings. 3 sisters and 1 brother. The whole family is pretty close. As I was saying my mom was having her birthday party at this beach house. We invited friends and family. My mum allowed my friends to come as well so I had other teens, other than my siblings to talk too. My friends parents and friends with my mum, so they came as well.
My friends and I told our parents that we were going to take a walk along the beach and get away for a little bit. They said it was fine as long as we didn't go too far away. We went for our walk and that's when it all kinda went to hell. My friend stepped on something weird. We thought she may have stepped on a crab or ocean turtle. We shined our phones on it, and we saw it was a human hand not attached to the body.
We screamed and we ran all the way back to the party. We were trying to tell the adults what we saw. Uncle Dan was sitting with a bunch of other adults. I ran strait to him and was trying to tell him what we saw. He was asking us are we sure it was a hand? were did we see it? He called it in and that was that.
Now in present day my dad is still mad at me I ran to uncle Dan instead of him. He won't stop bringing it up whenever I see him. It's always go ask uncle Dan. Yeah, I did. Whenever he tells me to talk to Uncle Dan I do. Maybe that's egging him on, but I am not going to stop talking to uncle Dan because of my dads bull****. I also don't know what to do about my Dad because it's getting stupid at this point.
