Rands pickup sloshed thru the muck on the road to his house,one of these he was going to put more gravel on,another one of his things to do list.Start dating again was one that ranked at the top,his kids was first,he was lonely,where do I start,he thought to himself. Even the song on the radio did very little to raise his spirits,another sappy country song and rain dampening his mood. Looking down at the dashboard rand clicked the crooning off out the corner of his eye he saw something,swerving to miss it,rand skidded into the ditch . Locking in four wheel drive,he hoped he could get out or it was going to be long wet walk to the house. Rocking the truck back and forth for several minutes he hadn't gained an inch. Muttering to himself,rand let out deep breath and stepped out in the downpour. Lighting lit up the direction home as he made his way,someone else was on the same road. "What the..." rand started toward the staggering figure."Help me" Rand quickned his pace until he was only a few steps away,lacey collapsed just then,rands arms already awaiting.
