If you look through Nigerian history hardly has any govt. official been punished for corruption, and it has becoming a normal thing for those at the top to want to steal from their office...also you find out that if you steal little your punishment is great but if you steal more you are likely to go unpunish... do you think death penalty will help reduce corruption?

Not necessarily the death penalty straight up. I say charge them with treason, then exile them from the country, with the threat of execution should they return to the country. Same should happen in this country, too...but then there would be NO govt. officials left in the USA. As for America helping out, that is unnecessary. This country has no business getting involved in other country's issues when we need to fix OURSELVES first.

Americans still has some self respect but most Nigerians don't...we all know corruption is everywhere but it is getting to much in this country, our heros are all gone the freedom fighters we have now are money defenders I feel so sorry for my country. I know someday we'll get there i hope it won't be by violence...

@BIGJ41: to rebel is to divide the country which i am strongly against and to involve America is to get it wosre bcos America has gotten problems of her own... i think what happened in Ghana is the best....
