@SweetNothings:

Sounds good. I know what you mean, but I tried to have a relationship with someone so fiercely independent that she was a habitual liar....admittedly so...and denied answering to anyone on anything. Therefore her relationships couldn't exist with even acquaintances or doctors.

There is always a balance in every relationship of roles and who answers to whom on what issue. I think that point is ignored and causes the 65% divorce rate.
Well...but me deciding who I want in my life doesn't mean I'm dominant. I'm actually not. I really like traditional roles in a romantic relationship. But, I thought you were asking about all relationships...such as family, friends etc.

@SweetNothings:

No worries. I understand. You made your point clear. I was agreeing and expanding on the point to show what happens when we take such things too far like society likes to do.

I also agree you SHOULD be choosey who you want in your life. If you take direction from someone, they had better be totally qualified and acceptable to you.

@R1H0: How does being fiercely independent correlate to being an habitual liar?

@LaDawn:

Lying continuously to avoid anyone knowing her true motives, feelings, or actions. This kept her doing whatever she wanted whenever she wanted by having no tie downs and manipulating people.

@R1H0: that isn't being fiercely independent...that is being dishonest and manipulative. I take great pride in my independence....AND my honesty...js.
