I dont think its a good idea to make it easyr to get roses. They are supposed to be something special and if you can get as many as you want then it isnt so special anymore. Im just saying. I think its a step in the direction of all the other sites. But i like this one so far. So stay as you are. ;) thanks!!!

@Andres: is there anyway to claim cupid credits for a referral that was done just before you started this?

Folks, I'm very glad to hear that a lot of you discovered Dating.mobi thanks to a friend! Please return the favor by referring your own single friends who haven't found us yet, because the more we grow, the better it will be for everyone as there will be more fish to choose from in this sea of love.

The problem we face is how do we grow faster as a free site with no advertising budget? I definitely understand that slightly diluting the "specialness" of a Rose is bad, but it's a small bad in return for a greater good, which is to get more users on here to increase everyone's chance of finding love.

Unfortunately not because there would be no way for us to determine which claims are legitimate and which ones are not, and if we were to make an exception for one user, everyone would want the same exception. But thanks for referring a friend to Dating.mobi, and definitely consider referring more now that you can be rewarded for it!

Maybe you could leave the roses the way they are and make ways to earn other kinds of gifts. That way the rose can still be something special AND you have another marketing tool besides, without taking away from how special the rose is.

This is an interesting suggestion, how do others feel about this? The only issue here is that when we introduce the new Virtual Gifts, they're going to be a lot more interesting than a Rose (e.g. Bouquet of Flowers, Box of Chocolates, Teddy Bear, etc.), so how would we reconcile that (since they might undermine the Rose)?

Another way I'm thinking of balancing the rewarding of referrals with the specialness of a Rose is to give people less Roses per month (0 or 1 Rose instead of 2), and have them earn them by referring friends. This would make them even rarer, while giving users a bigger incentive to refer friends. The downside is you will have to work for your Roses, but is that really such a bad thing? Imagine how special it would be to be given a Rose knowing how much more difficult it was for the sender to earn it?

Or we can leave it as it is.

As always, I'm very open to suggestions.
